Meet Our Staff

Pam Weech
Practice Manager
Pam has managed the animal hospital since 1982 when she and Dr. Weech purchased the practice. She is originally from Paducah, Kentucky but has called Galesburg her home since moving here. Pam’s duties include bookkeeping, staffing, procedures management and public relations. In the community, Pam is a founding board member and past president (twice) of Galesburg Christian School. She now carries the title of board member emeritus since she still plays an active role in development and marketing for GCS. She is an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime is interacting with her 3 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Marla Bell
Head Receptionist, Inventory Manager
Marla has been with the practice for over 20 years! She first worked as a kennel attendant while in high school. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from the University of Illinois in 2000. Since her return that year, Marla has served as receptionist and veterinary assistant. More recently, she took the task of managing inventory and serves as our head receptionist. Marla does an excellent job serving clients, overseeing specialized billing and monitoring controlled drug logs. She lives in Oneida and loves her cat Taco Bell.

Michelle Swise
Receptionist
Michelle has been with us for a few years now and is a full time receptionist. Her bubbly personality makes your check in and out procedure fun and friendly.

Amanda Crozier
Receptionist
Amanda joined our team in 2020. She has two lovely young daughters and is pet parent to several cats.

Deb Summers
Receptionist
To serve you better, Deb was added to our team of receptionists early in 2022. She and her husband and boys live on a farm, have several of their own animals and pets. She will be another friendly face to greet you as you come in for an appointment, pet admission or prescription refill.

Nacole Hawk
Veterinary Nurse/Lab Technician
Nacole joined our team in the fall of 2015. She serves as veterinary assistant and receptionist. Nacole has 2 dogs, Stryker, a German Shepherd and Kronos, a Staffordshire Terrier, and a cat, Hemi and a bearded dragon, Harley.

Nancy Yeutson
Veterinary Nurse/Lab Technician
Nancy has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since April 2000. She started as a kennel attendant at a very early age and has progressed to serve as an exam room assistant and lab technician.
She has an associate’s degree in early education. Nancy is married, cares for her 4 children, several dogs and works for us part time. She and her husband raise goats, chickens, pigs and ducks and enjoy growing organic vegetables.

Jen Brandenburg
Veterinary Nurse/Lab Technician
Jennefer has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since May 2003. Jen has an immense amount of knowledge in the veterinary field and was certified as a veterinary technician in Wisconsin prior to moving to Illinois. She is your go to when you need to travel outside of the U.S and can help you navigate the paperwork and rules. Jen lives on a farm in Altona with her husband and son. She has extensive experience in raising and training horses and coonhounds. She is a member of The Appaloosa Horse Club and The International Arabian Horse Association and owns several Blue Tick Coonhounds.

Tiffany
Veterinary Nurse/Lab Technician
Tiffany joined our team in the fall of 2022. She has more than 8 years of experience as a veterinary assistant. She has certifications as a nurse’s aide and as a paraprofessional. With her background in these fields, Tiffany has developed a unique professionalism as she interacts with pet parents.

Amanda Smith
Certified Veterinary Assistant, Nurse/Lab Technician
Amanda has been with us off and on since 2015. She became certified in the spring of 2019. Amanda is married, has two children and 4 cats.

Valerie Caves
Professional Groomer
Val joined our practice in January 2021. She has been a pet stylist since 2005. She has experience working in veterinary clinics and had her own local grooming shop before moving to work for a high-end grooming salon in Wellington, Florida. Her love of animals has been life-long and stems from her childhood
Val strives to make the grooming experience as stress-free as possible. She keeps up to date on the latest grooming trends, equipment, and products by attending trade shows and seminars. She takes great pride in her work and is very much a quality over quantity type of groomer.
Val’s fur babies include Reese and Cora (standard poodles), Little Boy (dachshund) and Lilly and Penelope (kitties). Val bought her grandparents house in Galesburg where she and her daughter now reside.

Mikka Heineman
Certified Bather
Meet Mikka Heineman, our certified bather. Before joining us in May, she worked at a grooming shop in Montana. Her duties include bathing dogs and cats for our groomers and doing kennel baths that don’t involve the groomers. If your dog or cat just needs a bth with no trimming from the professional groomers, Mikka is your gal.

Miranda King
Kennel Manager
Miranda has been on staff as a kennel attendant since early 2009. During the summer of 2015, she was promoted to Kennel Manager. She took care of scheduling other kennel attendants and covered her shifts in the kennel area. In the summer of 2020, Miranda was promoted to veterinary assistant. She still covers a few kennel shifts.
Miranda graduated from the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers where she took a special interest in training police dogs. This is fitting since her husband, Keith is a county sheriff deputy. She owns several dogs and cats and also enjoys her many birds and reptiles. Miranda and Keith have a beautiful young daughter.

Mikayla Oppel
Kennel Attendant
Mikayla is a high school student. She joined us this summer and does a wonderful job taking care of your pets on evenings and weekends when your pets are boarding with us.
