Meet Our Staff

Pam Weech
Practice Manager
Pam has managed the animal hospital since 1982 when she and Dr. Weech purchased the practice. She is originally from Paducah, Kentucky but has called Galesburg her home since moving here. Pam’s duties include bookkeeping, staffing, procedures management and public relations. In the community, Pam is a founding board member and past president (twice) of Galesburg Christian School. She now carries the title of board member emeritus since she still plays an active role in development and marketing for GCS. She is an active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Her favorite pastime is interacting with her 3 grown daughters and 4 grandchildren.

Marla Bell
Head Receptionist, Inventory and Business Manager
Marla has been with the practice for over 25 years! She first worked as a kennel attendant while in high school, then graduated with a bachelor’s degree in animal science from the University of Illinois in 2000. Since her return that year, Marla served as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. More recently, she took on the task of managing inventory through our veterinary software system. She has also mastered our other software applications such as our online pharmacy, PetDesk reminder system and membership care plan application. As a head receptionist, she does an excellent job serving clients, overseeing specialized billing and the management of many other daily tasks. Marla lives in Oneida and loves her cat Taco Bell.

Amanda Crozier
Receptionist
Amanda joined our team in 2020. She has two lovely young daughters and is pet parent to several cats.

Nacole Hawk
Receptionist
Nacole has 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. She cares for 2 dogs, Mazikeen, a Staffordshire Terrier and Keva, an American Bully. She is a volunteer firefighter and EMT in her spare time.

Laura Olson
Certified Veterinary Technician, Lead Technician
Laura joined our team in the early spring of 2023 when she made a big move from San Diego to Galesburg. She is a registered veterinary technician earning her degree from Pima Medical Institute. She has brought with her extensive experience in the veterinary field, as she worked for a Banfield Veterinary Clinic and at a Pet Emergency & Specialty/PESC Urgent Care Center in California. She is also certified in Fear Free practices, Pet Nutrition, and Advance CPR!
Here at Galesburg Animal Hospital, Laura is a lead technician to other veterinary technicians/assistants. She provides high-level training to them and other team members such as kennel staff in many areas.
Laura has an aunt and uncle who live in Galesburg and has a boyfriend. She enjoys her 3 dogs, Aubrey, Natale and Sam. Sam is the puppy and the other two are seniors. Laura loves to learn and help people. She is a problem solver so feel free to reach out to her with any pet questions.

Amanda Smith
Certified Senior Veterinary Assistant
Amanda has been with us since 2015. She became certified in the spring of 2019 and recently earned the title of one of our senior assistants. She has expertise with blood draws and takes great care as she maintains our in-house laboratory equipment.
Amanda is married to Scott. She has 2 grown children and one grandchild and cares for one dog and 7 cats. She likes playing video games, especially Zelda. She also enjoys reading and getting tattoos.

Nancy Yeutson
Senior Veterinary Assistant
Nancy has an associate degree in early education. She is married and cares for 4 children, 3 dogs, 4 cats and lots of chickens. And, she loves roller coasters.

Jen Brandenburg
Veterinary Nurse/Lab Technician
Jennefer has been with Galesburg Animal Hospital since May 2003. Jen has an immense amount of knowledge in the veterinary field and was certified as a veterinary technician in Wisconsin prior to moving to Illinois. She is your go to when you need to travel outside of the U.S and can help you navigate the paperwork and rules. Jen lives on a farm in Altona with her husband and son. She has extensive experience in raising and training horses and coonhounds. She is a member of The Appaloosa Horse Club and The International Arabian Horse Association and owns several Blue Tick Coonhounds.

Tiffany Kelly
Veterinary Assistant
Tiffany joined our team in the fall of 2022 but has been in the veterinary field since 2012. She has certifications as a nurse’s aide and as a paraprofessional. With her background in these fields, Tiffany has developed a unique professionalism as she interacts with pets and pet parents.
Tiffany is married to TJ and has one adult child, a daughter-in-law and 2 granddaughters. She cares for 5 dogs, Daisy, a Pekingese, Bailey, a dachshund, Ozzie, a dachshund, Lulu, a yorkie-poo and Harley, a dachshund and 2 cats, Violet and Hunter. Tiffany loves the beach and the St. Louis Cardinals. She also enjoys spending time with family, especially her granddaughters.

Valerie Caves
Professional Groomer
Val joined our practice in January 2021. She has been a pet stylist since 2005. She has experience working in veterinary clinics and had her own local grooming shop before moving to work for a high-end grooming salon in Wellington, Florida. Her love of animals has been life-long and stems from her childhood
Val strives to make the grooming experience as stress-free as possible. She keeps up to date on the latest grooming trends, equipment, and products by attending trade shows and seminars. She takes great pride in her work and is very much a quality over quantity type of groomer.
Val’s fur babies include Reese and Cora (standard poodles), Little Boy (dachshund) and Lilly and Penelope (kitties). Val bought her grandparents house in Galesburg where she and her daughter now reside.

Mikka Heineman
Certified Bather
Mikka Heineman joined our team in 2022. Attending the Great American Grooming Show in Chicago with Val last summer, she earned her bathing certification. Before working with us, she worked at a grooming shop in Montana. Her duties include bathing and drying dogs and cats for Val and performing other kennel baths. If your dog or cat just needs a bath with no trimming, Mikka is your go-to person. Mikka also serves as a veterinary assistant when needed.

Miranda King
Kennel Manager
Miranda graduated from the Tom Rose School for Professional Dog Trainers where she took a special interest in training police dogs. This is fitting since her husband, Keith, is a county sheriff deputy. She owns several dogs and cats and also enjoys her many birds and reptiles. Miranda and Keith have a beautiful young daughter.

Taylor Sell
Part-time Kennel Technician
Taylor joined our kennel team during the summer of 2023. Taylor is full of enthusiasm and has a great love for the animals in her care. She does a great job walking the dogs and cleaning the kennel area!
Taylor is a single mom of Axel, her 6-year-old, and Sunni, her 3-year-old. She has a tabby cat named Maya.

Jackie Brownlee
Part-time Kennel Technician
Jackie joined us in the summer of 2023. She covers many of the night walk shifts and says she enjoys feeding the dogs and cats!
At home, Jackie has lots of dogs and cats and one lizard.
